Ginny Busch, president of the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund, shares wildlife success stories and conservation messages with millions of people a year with the help of animal ambassadors such as Mattie. A juvenile bald eagle rescued by Florida's Audubon Center for Birds of Prey and deemed nonreleasable because of the extent of her injuries, Mattie is cared for by SeaWorld Orlando animal experts who have helped her become an extraordinary ambassador for her species and other wildlife.
Upon visiting an Anheuser-Busch Adventure Park, many guests are inspired to help protect the animals they encounter and get involved with wildlife conservation. The SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund was, in part, created to fulfill that desire. A private charitable foundation, the fund allows guests to support the company’s efforts to preserve endangered wildlife; support worthy conservation and research organizations worldwide; and aid ill, orphaned, injured or stranded animals. Since 2003, the fund has granted more than $3.5 million to 286 projects in 60 countries. In addition, the fund operates the SeaWorld/Busch Gardens Environmental Excellence Awards, granting $85,000 a year to students and teachers across the United States who are making positive impacts on their hometown environments. Since 1993, this program has awarded more than $1.3 million to schools in 43 states. The fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, directs 100 percent of the donations it receives to on-the-ground wildlife conservation.
