Anheuser-Busch Debuts Innovative New Holiday Packaging

Anheuser-Busch kicks off the holiday season with colorful and innovative packaging and gift ideas that add an element of fun and novelty to seasonal parties and social gatherings, in addition to providing a selection of holiday gift ideas.

The majestic world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, synonymous with the holiday season, are being highlighted on new limited-edition decorative collectors' tins. The bold red tins display striking imagery of the eight-horse Clydesdale hitch, complemented by snow flake graphics and a "Happy Holidays" greeting message. Each tin contains four eye-catching 16-ounce aluminum bottles of Budweiser beer featuring their own unique holiday tree, gift ribbon and ornament designs. Budweiser is also using this festive Clydesdale imagery on a variety of its secondary packaging for the brand's 12-ounce cans and bottles.

"Anheuser-Busch continues to lead the industry by bringing new dimensions to the beer drinking experience through package design innovation," said Dan Hoffmann, vice president, brand creative services. "Today, like never before, social settings and drinking occasions set the stage for what beverages adult consumers choose -- we're providing novel and stylish packaging that they'll want to give to friends and family as gifts, take to parties or be seen holding at a bar."

Bud Light, for the first time, has introduced a holiday-themed 16-ounce aluminum bottle that includes the brand's signature ultra-violet (UV) logo, which is activated under black light environments in bars and nightclubs. The cobalt blue bottle's festive snowflakes and background graphics create a sparkling, light-catching effect. Bud Light has also reintroduced its popular 7-ounce holiday-themed, shrink-wrapped ornament bottles that were available for the first time last year. These ideal adult stocking fillers offer six festive designs including holiday lights, snow scenes, holly, holiday ornaments and trees. The colorful bottles are packaged in a decorative, six-pack carrier featuring the brand's logo against a silver garland background and images of the various bottle designs.

The Michelob brand family is adding to the festive fun this year with holiday graphics on its 6- and 12-pack carriers of Michelob, Michelob AmberBock, Michelob Light, Michelob ULTRA and Michelob ULTRA Amber 12-ounce glass bottles. The new design transforms 12-pack carriers into wrapped holiday gifts, tied with decorative ribbon graphics and tagged with a Christmas tree-shaped label displaying an image of the bottled beer brand inside.

Anheuser-Busch's holiday packaging will be available through the end of December in grocery and convenience stores. The Bud Light holiday-themed aluminum bottle will also be available in restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
